Boondocking time in Arizona.

Well the time is on us in Arizona. While the rest of the country is winterizing there trailers we are un sumerizing ours. Getting them ready for some Good Hunting/camping trips. Ah the nicer weather is upon us that live in Hell most of the year so we can enjoy those short months of cool weather. Hope to have some good trips and photos for all you true boondockers out there.

RE: Water Heater & Outdoor Sink Mod w/Pics

Very well done, Very well done. I posted a link to this over on the Travel trailer forum because everytime someone brings up a water leak issue i tell them to use shark bites and Pex pipe to fix it. Both products are very good. I use them every day in the plumbing field and i cary extra pipe and fitting in my tools for the trailer. once again very well done.

For all the plumbing questions.

For all those that have had plumbing questions about redoing your pipes. I saw this on the pop up forums. This guy knows what he is doing. And all the answers i have givin about Pex,Wersbo Pipe and shark bite fittings. This is just what i was talking about. Very easy and anyone can use them. I have extra sharkbite fittings and some Pex pipe in my tool area of my trailer.

RE: Polybutylene water lines

I have repiped hundreds of trailer homes And regular homes that had the Poly. This is the old grey stuff with qwest fitings. The fittings and the pipe fail all the time. I am in Phoenix and maybe it is our dry heat. The pipe get brittle and splits, cracks, busts or what ever you want to call it. I am glad they shipped a good batch to your builder because most of the rest of the world has had to have it replaced. Anyways pex or wersbo is the only way to go now.it is lite and cheeper than copper.

RE: Polybutylene water lines

I use the expansion fittings and the crimp fitting on pex every day. You can not beat it. I also use the shark bites when i need to and they work great. And yes if your poly pipe is strong than you got the only good pipe to come from the factory. The pipe is horable. It gets brittle and once that starts you are done for.

RE: rotten meat smell- UPDATE - UPDATE

We love our 02 trail lite by R vision. I say the ozone machine. Any fire or mold restoration company should have one. They will fix the problem for sure.I have seen them work wonders.Pick the unit up and start camping.

RE: wiring harness and brake control

IT should not be any more than what you have done at this point. You should just be able to buy the pig tail conector to hook the controle box to your TV. Now the trailer plug should not be hard for you either. It may just hook up the same way as the one you did. You are justr adding a few more duties to the new plug.

RE: Plumbing Question

Try shark bite fittings. They just slide on and you do not have to do any thing other than slide it on to the point it calls for. The only trouble you may have is holding the pipe tite enough while you push the fittings on. You can buy them at home depot make sure you get the fitting and the removal tool incase you do not get it on all the way and you want to pull it of to try again. the little tool comes in the bag with the fitting. What i do is take a marker and put a mark on the pipe to the spot they tell you to on the fitting bag. then sldie the fitting on to that point. Walla job done. I use shark bites every day in my service plumbing company. I have a assorted shark bite fitting set in my tool storage on the trailer for trouble like this while on the road.

RE: St. Johns, AZ

I was raised in St.David and my mother was raised in St Johns Both in AZ and both small towns. Do not set out your awning in st johns or the wind will rip it off. It blows up there 99% of the time.

RE: Curved Shower Curtain Rod?

They come with brackets that swivle out to match your fit. And they can be cut very easy with copper tube cuters or even a hack saw. If the end is jagged and not even it will still work because the end slides into the bracket about an inch and a half and then should tighten down with a set screw. I install them in homes every week.

RE: I hear you knockin' but you can't come in.

I am a 40 cal xd springfield man myself. The truth is that 9mm ammo has come along ways from the day that we all said it was a worthless round. Like it has been stated that two clips of 9mm will stop a bear. My father killed a nice bear with a 22 hand gun one time. We were out running our hounds to keep them in shape when they crossed this bear track. Anyways they got away from us to fast. By the time we got to them that old bear was tearing them up. The only way to stop the fight was to use the bear tag or shoot the dogs. Yes i have had them in my camp and standing in the bed of my truck. I like bears coming to camp with us.
